When faced with the need to replicate a part or object that is either partially damaged or has no design data, often the only option was painstaking hand or probe measurements, followed by a designer's guesswork to digitally fill in missing information. Modern 3D laser scan technology allows you to collect thousands of points in seconds, precisely mapping the most complex surfaces into a solid digital mesh. The scanner never touches the object, thus any problems with depressing soft surfaces or obtaining minute details are gone. Once in the computer, missing segments of the surface can be easily reconstructed using computer imaging programs. Data can be feed directly into a CNC machine to create a sample or prototype part.
Corinthian Data Capture's hand held laser scanner and CAD software allow us to faithfully duplicate your object, while saving time and expense in the process.
